The First Four tips off 68-team tournament coverage
• The tournament features 31 automatic qualifiers and 37 at-large teams. After the field is determined, the teams will be seeded 1 through 68 and then placed in the bracket using the principles and procedures found on NCAA.com.
The tournament will begin with eight teams competing in the First Four, with two games being played March 15 and two on March 16, all live in primetime on truTV. Four of those teams will be the last four at-large teams selected to the field. Their seeds, and who their second-round opponent will be, are not determined until Selection Sunday. The other four teams will be automatic qualifiers, seeded 65 through 68 on the overall seed list. The two winning teams will then advance to the second round as No. 16 seeds that will face top-seeded teams.
